Moving Interstate

If you are moving interstate, then your move will be far more thoroughly planned an organized than a local move.

You will need to book a mover, as well as advice on your move date and location, as quickly as possible.

You will be given plenty of advice and help from our team, from packing tips, to federal law requirements and regulations. If you have any questions on your interstate relocation, simply pick up the phone and speak to your moving planner or advisor, and they will help put any problems or queries to rest.

Make sure you have checked our Moving Checklist and our Packing Guide for your interstate relocation. There are plenty of hints, tips and useful pieces of advice that will make your move that little bit easier. Remember, Excalibur Van Lines are here to help you with all aspects of your relocation, you just have to give us the word, and we’ll be right there.

Federal Law and FMCSA

Federal Law requires that you inform your shipper and carrier of you interstate move, so that the charges and tariffs that govern your relocation are thoroughly checked and confirmed before relocation commences.

Once the carrier has had the means by which to see your shipment, a bill of lading will be produced, which can be produced to you, the mover, on request.

There will be terms, conditions and charges as part of the bill of lading that are not negotiable.

It is imperative you make us aware of every detail of your interstate move, and we will help you plan and implement every detail, and will charge you fairly and accordingly for any services rendered.

The Federal Carrier Motor Safety Association (FMCSA) regulations protect consumers, and also outline and define the responsibilities of both the moving service you have hired and yourself.

We will provide you a pamphlet from the FCMSA about your rights, as well as information and advice on what to do if you have a complaint to make. Our pamphlet will carry a contact number for you to use in case of any last minute questions or queries.

Interstate Estimates

We are not obliged or required to provide an over the phone quote or estimate for your interstate move, but we want to help you as much as possible. With enough information, we will provide a basic quote, however, we prefer to get involved as soon as possible, to not only help you when you need it most, to but to also assess any and all charges involved with your relocation, so that we can advise you on these as quickly as possible.
There are two types of estimates Excalibur Los Angeles Movers can provide – binding and none binding.
